The planned in-house AMOUR FOU concert at the Austrian Cultural Forum, New York has been cancelled due to the current restrictions. Nevertheless, Scharmien Zandi will create an online show from which you can enjoy A TASTE OF AMOUR FOU featuring the New York-based Austrian saxophonist Lukas Gabric. The video will also include an introduction to a poetry radio play with Zandi’s band CADÛ featuring a video installation of her opera DIONE.
Through the electrifying sound fields of Pop, Oriental and Experimental, Scharmien Zandi explores equality, feminism, freedom, individualism, racism, and sexism.
AMOUR FOU brings this vulnerability of exploration to a climax that seduces the public, with the artist acting as the defendant, the judge and the hangman simultaneously. The combination of piano and the holistic voice of Scharmien Zandi results in a show emulating a chanson character with a different style of sound. Her expressed point of view is full of humor, melancholy, critic, and irony.

Für das österreichische Kulturforum in New York City veröffentlicht Scharmien Zandi am 15. Mai 2020 ein 30-minütiges Video, das ein Simulacrum ihrer bisherigen Kunstwerke zeigt.
2020 musste Zandi durch die Coronakrise bedingt ihre erste Amerika-Tour absagen. Sie wurde daher vom österreichischen Kulturforum New York eingeladen, eine einmalige Online-Show zu gestalten, die als Simulacrum ihrer bisherigen Kunstwerke verstanden werden darf. Mit dem poetischen Hörspiel DIE WEISSE WESTE (Cadû), der Videoinstallation STATE OF MATTER (Dione) und einem Konzertauszug aus ihrem Avantgarde-Chanson-Programm Amour Fou, bei dem sie der in New York lebende Österreicher Lukas Gabric mit dem Saxophone begleitet, setzt sie mit dem Titel „A Taste of Amour Fou – a transgressive fiction of love“ den Schwerpunkt auf Veränderung, Verbundenheit und Vertrauen, um eine Momentaufnahme der aktuellen Geschehnisse zu kreieren.
